Swimmers of the Meet for our last dual meet against Oak Lawn last Wednesday all had amazing performances in the pool. Gen, who has been working extra hard these last few weeks at practice, definitely saw the fruits of her labor at the last meet. She had a great race in her 50 breast, placing a close 2nd, and she dropped a second in her 50 back. Tammy dropped time in both her 50 breast and her 50 back as well. In her back, she dropped an astounding 15 seconds! Chiquita, despite recovering from pneumonia and currently nursing a sickness, had great swims in his 100 IM (dropping 3 seconds!) and his 50 fly. Jesse has been consistently a great role model for younger swimmers. He always helps the little kids understand what race they are on, and he pushes himself very hard in practices and meets. Jesse dropped almost 20 seconds on his 50 breast at this meet and 4 seconds on his 50 back. Outstanding. Great job Sea Demons!

Sorry for posting this one a little later than usual! Swimmers of the Meet for our meet against Mannheim two weeks ago are: Mateo, Alyssa, Kate, and Camila. Mannheim is a 25 meter pool, which is a little bit longer than our 25 yard pool. Because of this, our swimmers' times don't match up exactly. It is also more challenging to swim in a longer pool, and our swimmers (especially the Swimmers of the Meet) met that challenge. Mateo had an awesome meet, with great races in the 50 free and 50 back. His streamlines were better than ever, and we could tell how much he was focused on swimming fast! Alyssa is always ready for her races, and when she got in the water at Mannheim, she dominated the 8 and under age group with excellent swimming and great breathing technique. Kate has progressed so much this season. A few months ago, she could barely make it across the pool. Now, we can always count on her to race and perform in any race or relay! Kate is a great example of what hard work and good attendance to practice can do. Camila had amazing swims across the board. She even won the 50 backstroke for her age group, despite rarely swimming that event in meets! Great job Sea Demons! Swimmers of the Meet - Wednesday, January 13, 2016 - Ashley, Olivia, Monica, Felix, and Brian1/18/2016 Swimmers of the Meet for last week's meet all showed so much improvement from our previous meet last month! Ashley S, who works hard at every practice, dropped 4 seconds off of her 50 butterfly and had great streamlines! Her brother Felix also dropped 4 seconds off of his 50 fly when he decided to push himself to race a kid that was seeded 9 seconds faster than he was. Olivia S continues to show the benefits of challenging yourself at practice! Olivia dropped 19 seconds in her 50 fly and 2 seconds in her 100 IM! Monica did an awesome job of swimming her lifetime best of 45 seconds on the 50 freestyle! She also had a GREAT swim during her final relay, with excellent breathing and fast arms! Brian dropped 12 seconds on his 100 back. Every time he gets in the water, he swims faster! We're proud of all of our Sea Demons, and we can't wait to see even faster swimming on Wednesday! |
