Our first official meet of the season ended in victory for the Sea Demons. We beat the Mighty Krocs and Oak Forest Swim Association in a fun, close tri-meet. As a team, we had some outstanding swims across all ages and experience levels. Swimmers of the meet are: Madelyn, Brooke, Benj, and Junior.
Madelyn has been training with level 4 this season. It has been a struggle for her to keep up with some of the older and more experienced swimmers, but her hard work has totally paid off! She dropped 11 seconds on her 100 IM yesterday! Brooke had a great performance in both of her relays, and dropped 10 seconds in her 50 butterfly! She has also been working very hard this season, and it is showing in her competitiveness in the pool. Yesterday was Benji's first meet of his life, and he swam incredibly well! His first 100 free was a 1:30 and his first 100 back was a 1:51! Both are impressive times for a beginning swimmer, and are exciting benchmarks for future successes! Jr. was beneficial in both of his relays, dropped 1 second on his 50 freestyle, and won the 50 backstroke by less than a second! His technique has never looked better, and we are so proud of his progress! Congratulations to our entire team on our wins last night, and congratulations to our swimmers of the meet! Our next meet is Monday against the GILLS, please sign up on our standard meet sign up page.

For the first time in several seasons, the Red team was victorious at our annual Red and White meet! There were four stand-out role models with great attitudes that were swimmers of the meet: Maglio, Chuy, Jadyn, and Emily.
Maglio was incredibly helpful and independent. He was always ready for his races and helped out the new swimmers tremendously by guiding them to their lanes and helping them read the line-ups. Chuy showed outstanding levels of sportsmanship by always waiting in the water to shake hands with the final swimmer to finish their race. Jadyn requested and raced the 100 butterfly, one of the most challenging races, with a smile on her face. Emily, like always, was incredibly helpful. She was always asking coaches what she can do to help and helped many beginners find their lanes and understand how meets work. All four of these swimmers are returners, and all of them are excellent role models for the beginners. Thanks for a fun meet! |
