Our Red and White Meet last week was a success! Our new athletes and parents learned about how meets are run, how to show good sportsmanship, and how to compete. Ultimately, the Red Team won, so the sea demon statue will be painted red again! Swimmers of the Meet are: Sophia, Amari, Jessica, and Caleb.
Sophia is a returning swimmer who was incredibly helpful at the meet; she showed new swimmers how to line up and cheer during the meet. She also had great dives and dropped time in both of her events! Amari stepped up at the end of the meet, filling in a spot in the backstroke events and being helpful during the meet. Jessica had a great backstroke race, and during her freestyle, she kept her face down like we do in practice. Caleb earned the title for his 25 freestyle. Caleb dropped over 20 seconds from what he was doing in practice! Overall, all swimmers did something to be proud of. Some swam their first races; some overcame their fears of competition; some dropped time; and some learned more about their teammates. We are looking forward to the rest of the season of learning, fun, and competition!
