Not only have we completed our first home meet of the season, but we also saw amazing sportsmanship and time drops from our team! We want to take a moment to really recognize how impressive it is to the coaches to see our swimmers shaking hands with their opponents and staying in the water until everyone has completed their races. Those actions reveal good sportsmanship as well as strong team unity.
The swimmers of the meet are: Corri, Ace, Aylin, and Jose. Corri not only dropped three seconds in her 25 fly, which she has been working on tirelessly in practice, but she also accidentally swam the event twice due to a confusion in the line up. Corri was a real trooper and did her best in both events! Aylin is a new swimmer to EASC, and she dropped an incredible 20 seconds in her 25 free. She has shown significant improvements in her stamina and also her technique over the last month! Ace is one of our new swimmers who has been working tirelessly at practice. His work has really turned into improvements in the pool! During his 100 free, he dropped 7 seconds while also doing flip turns at each well without breathing into any of them! Jose, a new swimmer whose family has been on the team for some time, has been stepping up his game significantly. He dropped time in both of his events because he has been taking the drills we have been doing in practice to heart. By applying his techniques from practice into his races, he has showed incredible growth! We are so proud of our team and look forward to more outstanding swims, continued sportsmanship, and greater improvements as the season progresses.

This is what real sports is about. You’ll be able to learn more than what things that are valuable in life. Aside from training your body, you’ll also be able to learn how to discipline yourself. It comes with hard work, dedication, and passion in order to engage in a certain sport. In the long run, you’ll also learn how to respect other people and their capabilities. Children will improve their social skills which is an advantage when they grow up. Keep up the good work!
