Swimmers of the Meet - Wednesday, June 8th, 2016 - Felix, Alexis, Emily, Fabiola, and Ally6/10/2016 Our meet this Wednesday against the Mighty Krocs was very fun. We had some close races, some great wins, and a lot of improvements! Swimmers of the meet are: Felix, Alexis, Emily, Fabiola, and Ally.
Felix earned the title because he dropped 2 seconds in his 50 free to win the race by a hundredth of a second! That is exactly why we practice and what hard work in the pool leads to. Alexis joined the team this season as an 8th grader, and stepped up to the plate to swim fly - for the first time in a meet - in his medley relay. He also dropped time in his 100 free and 100 back, and out-touched someone by one second in his backstroke. Emily has been working very hard at practice, and it showed today in the meet. Her flip turns and dives were really good, and she was able to do breast in the medley relay and as an individual event. We're very proud of her progress! Fabiola has been a beast for the last two meets, doing butterfly whenever we need her to, and dropping time in everything else. At this meet, she won the 50 back after dropping 6 seconds off of her previous best time! Ally Rojas was the bonus swimmer of the meet when she filled in a final leg of the 18 and under medley relay, and managed to race and pull ahead of the competition and win the relay as a 12 year old! She was able to dig down deep and be competitive, and it was awesome to witness.
